science communications received an Interactive Media Award in 2014 in the fourth consecutive year. The Interactive Media Council Inc. (IMC) in New York recognizes excellence in web design from countries around the globe. The website for SMA und Partner AG that we produced in collaboration with Eggmann-Design and Goeldi Webmaster received the highest award “Best in Class” in the category Transportation.

RAD Awards 2014
For 24 years the RAD Awards have recognized outstanding achievements in recruitment advertising design. The jury evaluates innovation, skill and effectiveness of campaigns and individual activities. During an unforgettable award gala in London on January 30, 2014 about one thousand guests celebrated the most outstanding advertising work of the recruitment industry. science communications had the privilege to assume one of the distinguished eighteen awards. We won in the category Audio Visual with the short movie “Eureka”.

PR World Awards 2013
According to the promoters, the PR World Awards are the world’s premier public relations awards program. These were created to honor and generate industry-wide and peer recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of Public Relation agencies, organizations and individuals from all over the world. We are very happy that the short movie “Eureka” that we developed on behalf of ETH Zurich for Society in Science – The Branco Weiss Fellowship has been chosen as “Online Video of the Year”. The award ceremony took place on November 12, 2013 in New York.

European Excellence Awards 2013
Over 1500 applications were submitted for this year’s European Excellence Awards. For the seventh time, these awards honored the most outstanding achievements of communications professionals from all over Europe. The jury evaluated the creativity, innovation, cost-efficiency and strategy of the projects submitted. science communications was nominated in the category Online Video Channel with the YouTube channel of Society in Science – The Branco Weiss Fellowship. On December 5th, the winners were announced at the prestigious Gala Ceremony at the Postpalast in Munich.

Der Internationale Deutsche PR-Preis 2013
The Internationale Deutsche PR-Preis is the highest and most prestigious award for PR agencies in German-speaking countries. With this award the Deutsche Public Relations Gesellschaft (DPRG) jointly with F.A.Z.-Institut honors first-class performances in communications. Altogether 342 projects were submitted in 2013. One category that saw particularly many submissions was Corporate Media. In the end, the short movie “Eureka” won the prestigious award in gold in this category. It was produced by science communications and the London-based production agency Mad Cow Films for Society in Science – The Branco Weiss Fellowship, a program at ETH Zurich to support junior researchers around the world. During a gala night on October 25, 2013 in the Kurhaus Wiesbaden we received the award – for the second time – in front of 400 top executives and public relations specialists.

Digital Communication Awards 2013
Almost 600 entries from over two dozen countries were submitted for Quadriga University of Applied Sciences’ third international Digital Communication Awards competition. The awards aim to honor outstanding achievements in online communication at a pan-European level. All 154 shortlisted entrants from all over Europe presented their projects on September 20 in Berlin in front of a jury with altogether 33 members. The same evening the winners were announced during a gala at the Meistersaal. science communications was nominated with two projects and won in the category Web Video.

Deutscher Preis für Onlinekommunikation 2013
For the third time, the “Deutsche Preis für Onlinekommunikation” (German Award for Online Communication) awarded the best digital communication projects and campaigns. science communications won in the category “corporate video in the internet” category with the short movie “Eureka” that we developed on behalf of ETH Zurich for Society in Science – The Branco Weiss Fellowship. The award ceremony took place on May 15, 2013 in Berlin. We would like to thank the London based agency Mad Cow Films for their excellent realization of our ideas.

As a recent development, the non-profit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals also selects distinguished online videos. We are delighted to be among the first recipients in this new segment. The short movie “Eureka” that we produced in collaboration with Mad Cow Films in London for ETH Zurich won an “Outstanding Achievement Award” in the category Association.

The New York Cresta Awards were launched in 1993, bearing a name that is an abbreviation of Creative Standards. As the name suggests, the awards honor a reference standard of creative excellence within the international advertising and marketing communications industry. This year less than 7 percent of the entries have been nominated for an award. science communications became a finalist in the category TV/Cinema/Online Film.

Green Datacenter AG, part of the green.ch group and long-time client of science communications, has received the Swiss Energy Award Watt d’Or 2013. The Swiss Federal Office of Energy recognized the effort to achieve the highest energy efficiency in the construction and operation of the greenDatacenter Zürich-West. We are delighted to have received the partner award for the media work.

The Award Corporate Communications is Switzerland’s recognition for extraordinary achievements in integrated communications. Each year only one or two laureates receive the valuable statue “The Communicators” created by the Ticino sculptor Pedro Pedrazzini. We are delighted to have received this special award for our work for Society in Science – The Branco Weiss Fellowship, a fellowship awarded by ETH Zurich.

science communications was nominated for the Econ Awards for Corporate Communications 2012 with its campaign “Daten sind das neue Geld der Schweiz” (data are Switzerland’s new money) for green.ch, a Swiss ICT service provider. Since 2007, the Econ Publishing House and the Handelsblatt Group award the best corporate communication initiatives in the German-speaking world.
