Situation

At some point the ICT service provider green.ch outgrew its existing facilities and decided to build a large state-of-the-art data center. This CHF 100 million investment targets very different customers from the SMEs and private individuals that make up the company’s ISP clientele. Potential clients for its datacenter services are for the most part international enterprises. green.ch therefore decided to develop a separate corporate identity for its new subsidiary, Green Datacenter AG.

Strategy

One of the first measures in the comprehensive marketing campaign was to develop an image brochure to address the target group – decision makers at international companies – and their needs.

Implementation

The brochure provides objective information about the advantages of Switzerland as a business destination in general and the greenDatacenter in particular. The topics it covers include earthquake safety, power and data connectivity, and accessibility. The high quality of the print brochure implicitly conveys reliability.

Result

Within less than three years, Green Datacenter AG had won prestigious clients including ABB, HP, and Nord Stream, and had rented out almost all of its space. It was possible to start construction of a second tract of the same size earlier than originally planned.
